Parents in fiscally strapped Saugus schools consider foundation

The Santa Clarita district gets the least amount of state aid per student of any district in L.A. County and faces a shortfall of almost $7 million. A foundation would raise funds to help fill the gap.

When Jackie Morgan MacDougall and other parents learned that their Saugus Union School District received the least state aid of any district in the county, she said they had to act.
